Today is Ray Bradbury’s birthday — August 22nd. A prolific writer of fantasy, science fiction, horror, and mystery, to say that Mr. Bradbury is an inspiration for my own writing would be an understatement of untangible measures. Last year I imagined a possible writing collaboration project to honor the author on his 100th birthday in 2020. It is called By Way of Ray.
By Way of Ray will be a collection of 100 short stories written by 100 writers inspired by the writing of Ray Bradbury. The goal is to publish the collection in the summer of 2020. Writers who wish to contribute to the By Way of Ray collection should contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org (or whatever means you may already use to contact me) for futher details. The intention is to publish sotories of unpublished writers along with those that have been published — the unknown and the well-known. New and old, all inspired by Ray Bradbury.
Fans of Ray Bradbury, as well as science fiction, fantasy, and horror in gneral, are encouraged to follow @bywayofray on Twitter and/or like the By Way of Ray Facebook page to stay updated on the progress of the project. Please share and help get the word to the writers inspired by Ray Bradbury.
In the meantime, reacquaint yourself with the stories of Ray Bradbury. And, remember…
“The great fun in my life has been getting up everymorning and rushing to the typewriter because some new idea has hit me.”
— Ray Bradbury
